Президент США Дональд Трамп публічно подякував лідерам Росії та Китаю за їхню, за його словами, нейтральну позицію під час кампанії проти Ірану.

Трамп сказав, що хоче висловити подяку Китаю і лідеру країни Сі Цзіньпіну за те, що він "залишився нейтральним, абсолютно нейтральним" під час кампанії США та Ізраїлю проти Ірану.
"І я хочу подякувати Владіміру Путіну – він був дуже нейтральним. Вони могли зробити все це значно складнішим для нас", – сказав президент США.
Він зазначив, що у розмові з Сі Цзіньпінем просив його не продавати Ірану зброю, зокрема засоби ППО, які могли б створити проблеми для американської авіації.
"І знаєте, в основному він цього не робив. Тож я хочу їм подякувати, тому що вони зробили ситуацію значно кращою", – додав Трамп.
Як відомо, ЗМІ писали, що Росія розширила обмін розвідданими та військову співпрацю з Іраном для його підтримки на тлі операції США та Ізраїлю.
Спецпосланець Трампа Стів Віткофф казав, що отримав запевнення від Москви про те, що Росія не передає Ірану розвіддані.
Сам Трамп відмовлявся відповідати на запитання журналістів щодо можливої допомоги Росії Ірану та назвав їх "дурними".
При цьому голова Об'єднаного комітету начальників штабів США на слуханнях у Сенаті визнав, що Росія надає певну допомогу Ірану у веденні війни.
