Autonomie úrovně L4 označuje vozidla, která dokážou jezdit zcela bez zásahu člověka v předem vymezených podmínkách, například v určitém městě nebo na konkrétních trasách.
Na rozdíl od asistenčních systémů, které jsou dnes už běžné, nemusí řidič neustále sledovat provoz a být připraven převzít řízení. Technologie se považuje za klíčový krok k rozšíření autonomních taxi, takzvaných robotaxi.
Skupina Stellantis vznikla na začátku roku 2021 fúzí italsko-americké společnosti Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) a francouzské skupiny PSA. Zahrnuje značky jako Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Fiat, Peugeot, Lancia, Jeep nebo Maserati.
Uber Technologies Inc. je americká nadnárodní dopravní společnost, která poskytuje služby sdílené jízdy, kurýrní služby, rozvoz jídla a nákladní přepravu. Vznikla v roce 2009. Wayve Technologies je britská společnost zabývající se technologií autonomního řízení, která se zaměřuje na vývoj systémů autonomních vozidel prostřednictvím komplexního hlubokého učení. Byla založena v roce 2017 výzkumníky z University of Cambridge.
