Romania in Russian penal colony: 15 years for espionage

A Romanian citizen was sentenced to 15 years in a maximum-security Russian penal colony for espionage against Ukraine. According to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), the man, David-Adrian Kercho, shared the location of sensitive air defense systems in Sochi with Ukrainian intelligence in August 2024. RUMUNJSKI državljanin osuđen je na 15 godina zatvora u ruskoj kaznenoj koloniji maksimalne sigurnosti nakon što je optužen za špijunažu za Ukrajinu, pri čemu je navodno pomogao Kijevu u identifikaciji lokacije osjetljivih sustava protuzračne obrane, priopćila je ruska sigurnosna služba FSB.

Ruska obavještajna služba objavila je snimku Kerchova uhićenja u, kako se čini, jednom parku, a na njoj je vidljivo da ga dva agenta bacaju na tlo. Reuters nije uspio iz neovisnih izvora utvrditi kako se Kercho izjasnio po pitanju optužbe, no FSB tvrdi da je priznao krivnju.
