Leikurinn hélst áfram jafn eftir markið og bæði lið fengu dauðafæri en FH jafnaði rétt fyrir lok fyrri hálfleiks. Markið var búið að liggja í loftinu og liðin gengu jöfn til búningsherbergja.

Seinni hálfleikur var með svipað handrit og sá fyrri þar sem ÍBV komst aftur yfir snemma í hálfleiknum. Eftir markið hélt FH áfram að sækja að ÍBV en náðu ekki að skora fyrr en á 80. mínútu þegar Berglind Freyja Hlynsdóttir skoraði eftir misheppnaða hreinsun ÍBV.

Undir lok leiksins komu nokkur færi í viðbót en hvorugt liðið náði að tryggja sigur í venjulegum leiktíma og framlengja þurfti leikinn. Staðan fyrir framlengingu var 2-2.

Snemma í framlengingunni fær ÍBV víti eftir að brotið er á Söndru Voitaine. Aldís Guðlaugsdóttir gerði sér lítið fyrir og varði víti fyrirliða ÍBV, Avery Mae Vanderven. Þetta var glæsilega varið víti. Avery Mae bætti þó upp fyrir vítaklúðrið í framlengingunni þegar hún skoraði eftir sendingu inn í teiginn úr aukaspyrnu.

Leikurinn endaði þannig með sigri ÍBV á heimavelli 3-2. Eftir leik fögnuðu Eyjastelpurnar vel og innilega eftir sætan sigur á toppliði Bestu deildarinnar, FH.
