Klubska hokejska scena je v zadnjih sezonah ponudila Olimpijo, ki zelo izstopa, drugi ne morejo priti blizu. A zdaj se morda obetajo spremembe, na Jesenicah imajo novo vodstvo s predsednikom Gregorjem Goričarjem ter željo po vrnitvi v najboljše čase.

"To je kruta realnost slovenskega hokeja. Vesel sem, da se je Olimpija pobrala, 13 reprezentantov je imela na SP-ju. Vesel pa sem tudi, da je Grega sprejel izziv, da se je lotil tega res zahtevnega projekta. Ker prihaja iz gospodarstva, se bo zadeve lotil na način, ki je primeren za ta klub. Najbolj vesel pa sem, da so se usedli s HDD-jem mladi z Jesenic in bodo skupaj orali ledino. Tam je ogromno kadra, prav je, da sodelujejo. Ne bo šlo čez noč, smo pa na pravi poti in imamo človeka, ki bo znal jeseniški hokej spraviti na raven Olimpije. Potem pa imamo spet stare dobre derbije," je dejal novi in stari predsednik Hokejske zveze Slovenije Matjaž Rakovec. V četrtek je na volilni skupščini dobil peti predsedniški mandat, ki se bo končal leta 2030.
