A tightrope walker in Warsaw walked half a kilometer on a rope at a height of 180 meters

A Estonian adventurer named Jaan Roose walked across a rope stretched between two of Poland's tallest buildings in Warsaw, at a height of approximately 180 meters. The rope was only 19 millimeters wide, and he moved from the Palace of Culture and Science to the Vasa Tower, which is 310 meters tall. The event took place with safety measures in place, though they were not needed. Roose has performed similar feats before, including crossing the Messina Strait and the Bosporus.

Lidem ve Varšavě se naskytl velmi netradiční pohled. Vysoko nad jejich hlavami tam totiž po laně nataženém mezi dvěma nejvyššími budovami v Polsku přecházel estonský dobrodruh Jaan Roose.

Ale ačkoliv se nejvyšší polská budova Vaso Tower tyčí do výšky 310 metrů nad zemí a Palác kultury a vědy měří na výšku 237 metrů, Jaan se pohyboval „pouze“ přibližně 180 metrů nad zemí, přičemž toto číslo se měnilo podle toho, jak se lano prověšovalo.

Po celou dobu měl Jaan samozřejmě jištění a organizátoři uvedli, že v záloze byly připraveny ty „nejlepší dostupné bezpečnostní systémy“. Jejich aktivace však nakonec naštěstí nebyla potřeba.

Jaan Roose má na svém kontě již několik podobných kousků, v minulosti například překonal Messinskou úžinu mezi Sicílií a pevninskou Itálií nebo nad Bosporským průlivem v Istanbulu přešel z Asie do Evropy. Jeho umění čas od času využívají také filmové či hudební produkce. Objevil se například ve filmu Assassin’s Creed nebo doprovázel Madonnu při jejím turné v roce 2012.
