Treize victimes recensées à ce stade par les enquêteurs, une garde à vue prolongée de 24 heures et de nouvelles plaintes pour viol et tentative de viol. Sept ans après les premières plaintes visant Patrick Bruel, l'affaire a pris une ampleur inédite.
Depuis les révélations de Mediapart en mai , une trentaine de femmes affirment dans la presse avoir été victimes de Patrick Bruel. Elles dénoncent des faits de viol, de tentative de viol, d'agression sexuelle et d'exhibition sexuelle qui se seraient déroulés entre 1991 et 2019 en France, en Belgique et au Canada. Le chanteur de 67 ans, qui conteste l'ensemble des accusations, est auditionné depuis lundi matin dans les locaux du premier district de police judiciaire à Paris sur des "faits qui concernent à ce stade 13 victimes", selon le parquet de Nanterre, qui centralise toutes les procédures. Sa garde à vue prendra donc fin au plus tard mercredi matin.
Derrière cette accélération judiciaire se cache une autre question : pourquoi les premiers signalements n'ont-ils pas conduit à des investigations plus poussées lorsqu'ils ont émergé en 2019 ? "J'ai été frappée par tout ce que la justice avait en main à l'époque", explique à France 24 Marine Turchi, journaliste à Mediapart à l'origine des premières révélations de l'affaire Patrick Bruel.
Après avoir consulté la procédure de 2019, elle affirme avoir découvert que neuf femmes s'étaient manifestées auprès de la justice, et non quatre comme cela avait été rapporté publiquement. "Quatre dénonçaient des faits non prescrits. La justice avait largement de quoi s'emparer de l'affaire, enquêter et avancer."

"Plusieurs fois le même témoignage"
L'affaire débute à l'été 2019 après le signalement d'une masseuse employée au Radisson Blu de Porticcio, en Corse-du-Sud. La jeune femme de 25 ans affirme lors de son audition que Patrick Bruel a refusé de porter le sous-vêtement jetable habituellement utilisé lors des massages puis retiré la serviette qui le recouvrait, prétextant avoir trop chaud. Elle raconte également qu'il lui aurait demandé de masser "l'interfessier" puis de descendre vers son pubis.
Le parquet d'Ajaccio ouvre alors une enquête préliminaire pour exhibition sexuelle et harcèlement sexuel. Lorsque l'affaire est révélée par la presse, plusieurs autres femmes se manifestent à leur tour auprès de la justice. Parmi elles figure une autre masseuse dans un hôtel-spa de Perpignan. Elle dépose plainte pour une agression sexuelle présumée commise quelques semaines plus tôt. Elle décrit, elle aussi, un client refusant de rester couvert au motif qu'il a trop chaud. Elle affirme également avoir reçu une demande de massage dans "l'interfessier" – un détail qui, souligne Marine Turchi, n'avait alors jamais été rendu public. "Ce qui est troublant, c'est que ces femmes relatent des éléments extrêmement spécifiques qui n'étaient pas connus médiatiquement", explique la journaliste.
D'autres signalements suivent encore en 2019 : une masseuse évoque des faits remontant à 2008 dans un hôtel de luxe à Cannes, sans porter plainte ; une autre décrit des faits similaires à Saint-Barthélemy, aux Antilles, en 2011, et porte plainte ; une troisième rapporte ce qu'une collègue lui avait raconté après une séance dans un centre de thalassothérapie à La Baule, en 2000.

Pour Marine Turchi, la principale interrogation porte sur le traitement de ces témoignages convergents. "Dans les dossiers de violences sexuelles, les preuves matérielles sont souvent rares. Mais là, j'ai eu l'impression de lire plusieurs fois le même témoignage. Ces femmes ne se connaissaient pas, se manifestaient au même moment et décrivaient des comportements très similaires."
Aucune information judiciaire n'est ouverte. En 2020, la procédure est classée sans suite. Selon la journaliste, cette décision a eu des conséquences durables. "Beaucoup de femmes hésitaient déjà à témoigner contre une personnalité aussi connue. Le classement sans suite a envoyé un signal très négatif : celui que ces récits ne produisaient aucun effet."
Dans les années qui suivent, Patrick Bruel continue d'être mis à l'honneur dans de grands événements : le spectacle des Enfoirés chaque année, la Fête de la musique sur France 2, les Jeux olympiques de Paris (dont il a été l'un des relayeurs de flamme), et des hommages nationaux, au Panthéon pour l'entrée de Missak Manouchian et aux Invalides pour la cérémonie d'hommage aux victimes françaises du 7-Octobre.

La journaliste souligne que l'accumulation de récits concordants peut constituer un élément central dans des enquêtes où les preuves matérielles ou les témoins viennent parfois à manquer.
