Five or six-week-old tadpoles were found under the floorboards of a Romanian pickup truck by Navy SEALs and were rescued.

Hungarian tax inspectors found six puppies hidden under the floorboard of a Romanian minivan on the M5 motorway in Bács-Kiskun county. The puppies were between five and six weeks old and lacked chips, vaccinations, and travel documents. The driver claimed ownership of all six dogs and stated he was transporting them from Romania to France for family members. Authorities determined the puppies were too young for transport and confiscated them, placing them under the care of an animal protection organization. Tax officials filed a report suspecting illegal trade of pets.

A sofőr azt állította, hogy mind a hat kutya az övé, és Romániából Franciaországba szállítja őket a családtagjainak. A pénzügyőrök értesítették a kormányhivatal hatósági állatorvosát, aki megállapította, hogy az állatok öt-hat hetesek, így túl fiatalok a hosszú úthoz.

A hatósági állatorvos megtiltotta a kölykök továbbszállítását, elrendelte elkobzásukat, a kiskutyák egy állatvédő egyesület gondozásába kerültek.

A NAV munkatársai feljelentést tettek „kedvtelésből tartott állatok kereskedelmével összefüggő visszaélés gyanúja” miatt. (via MTI)
