S švicarskega zunanjega ministrstva so sporočili, da so bila pogajanja med ZDA in Iranom, ki so bila načrtovana v gorskem letovišču Burgenstock, preložena. Ameriški podpredsednik J. D. Vance je pred tem že odpovedal polet v Švico.

"Načrtovani pogovori med ZDA, Iranom, Katarjem in Pakistanom so bili preloženi," je navedlo švicarsko zunanje ministrstvo. "Švica je še vedno pripravljena olajšati te pogovore. Ustrezno pripravljalno delo v Bürgenstocku se nadaljuje," je dodalo ministrstvo, a ni navedlo novega datuma tehničnih pogovorov.

Pogovori naj bi se odvili v petek v švicarski vasici Obbürgen dva dni po podpisu memoranduma o soglasju, po katerem je začel teči 60-dnevni rok za pogajanja o iranskem jedrskem programu.

Le nekaj ur pred tem je ameriški podpredsednik Vance po navedbah Bele hiše preložil potovanje v Švico. "Logistika teh pogajanj ni bila nikoli preprosta ali predvidljiva. Podpredsednik nocoj ne bo odletel. Veselimo se čimprejšnjega začetka tehničnih pogovorov," je v četrtek zvečer dejal tiskovni predstavnik Bele hiše.

Že pred najavo Berna je tudi iranska tiskovna agencija Tasnim poročala, da glede potovanja iranske delegacije v Švico "ni bilo še nič potrjeno" .

Dvomi o pogovorih v Švici so se pojavili v četrtek zvečer, ko je pakistanski zunanji minister Išak Dar sporočil, da je slovesnost ob podpisu sporazuma odpovedana, ker je ta že bil podpisan na daljavo, medtem ko je pakistanski premier Šehbaz Šarif preložil obisk Švice.

V skladu s prvotnimi načrti naj bi dogovor v četrtek ali danes v tej alpski državi podpisala glavni iranski pogajalec Mohamed Bager Galibaf in Vance, kar pa sta nato že v sredo storila ameriški predsednik Donald Trump in iranski predsednik Masud Pezeškijan .

Z dogovorom se končuje vojna na Bližnjem vzhodu, ki sta jo 28. februarja z napadi na Iran sprožila ZDA in Izrael. Iran je odgovoril z izstreljevanjem raket in brezpilotnih letalnikov na okoliške države in zaprl Hormuško ožino, ki je zaradi količine energentov, ki potujejo skozi ožino, ključna morska pot za svetovno gospodarstvo. ZDA so se odzvale z zaprtjem iranskih pristanišč.

V skladu z dogovorom se končujejo vsi spopadi, vključno z Libanonom. Iran je privolil še v razredčenje svojega visoko obogatenega urana, medtem ko je odprava sankcij povezana s končnim dogovorom o iranskem jedrskem programu, za katerega sporazum predvideva 60 dni časa. ZDA naj bi tudi sprostile zamrznjena iranska sredstva, vzpostavljen pa bo še 300 milijard dolarjev vreden sklad za obnovo Irana.
