Neighbor allegedly strangled and threatened woman

On June 18, 2026, at around 17:10, a 59-year-old woman reported being physically attacked, strangled, and threatened by her 34-year-old neighbor in St. Veit an der Glan. Am 18. Juni 2026 gegen 17.10 Uhr gab in St. Veit an der Glan eine 59-jährige Frau an, von ihrem 34-jährigen Nachbarn körperlich attackiert, gewürgt und bedroht worden zu sein.

Opfer ins Krankenhaus, Tatverdächtiger festgenommen

Die 59-Jährige wurde durch den Vorfall nicht offensichtlich verletzt, begab sich jedoch mit dem Rettungsdienst zur Abklärung möglicher Verletzungen in das Klinikum Klagenfurt. Der 34-Jährige wurde zur sofortigen Vernehmung auf die Polizeiinspektion verbracht. Danach wurden das Opfer und Zeugen einvernommen.

Justizanstalt Klagenfurt: Staatsanwaltschaft ordnet Einlieferung an

Gegen den 34-Jährigen wurde ein Betretungs- und Annäherungsverbot sowie ein vorläufiges Waffenverbot ausgesprochen. Nach den Einvernahmen des Opfers und von Zeugen ordnete die Staatsanwaltschaft die Einlieferung des 34-Jährigen in die Justizanstalt Klagenfurt an. Gegen ihn besteht der Verdacht der gefährlichen Drohung und der Körperverletzung.
