The police department of Novogorsk reported that the police officers of Bovsk, together with members of other services, have been intensively conducting activities for the second day to track down a missing 43-year-old Slovak citizen in Bovsk, especially in the wider area of Loga pod Mangartom.
The missing 43-year-old entered Slovenia on Friday, June 12, on a bicycle from Italy in Goriška and then continued his journey through Čepovan towards Tolmin.
A 43-year-old Slovakian citizen who went missing in the area of Loga near Mangart has not yet been found, the Police Department of Nova Gorica announced this afternoon.
At about 7 p.m. that same day, he sent a message to his relatives that he was looking for a place to stay in the area.
A helicopter was also used to search for the missing man.
Yesterday afternoon, under the leadership of the Bovec Police Station, a large-scale search operation was carried out, in which police officers of PP Bovec, firefighters of PGD Bovec and Loga pod Mangartom and rescuers of the Mountain Rescue Service Bovec participated.
According to the police, they searched the tourist and mountain routes in the vicinity of Loga pod Mangartom, the area of the Loška Koritnica and Možnica valleys, the vicinity of the village of Strmec, the road to Mangart all the way to the Mangartsko sedlo and many other pedestrian routes in the wider area. Despite the extensive activities of the missing Slovak citizen until the end of yesterday's search operation, which was interrupted at 7 pm, they were not found.
Therefore, the search operation continues today, as they said, they continue to survey the area at the back of Loška Koritnica or under the Little Mangart for the hunting lodge and carry out other activities to track down the missing person.
Police officers of the Police Department of Nova Gorica ask all citizens who have any useful information about the missing Slovak citizen, or observations that could help in his tracking, to report it to the police officers of the Police Station Bovec or call the nearest police station or the police intervention number 113 or the anonymous police telephone number 080 1200.
The missing Slovakian national is approximately 5'10" tall, medium build, and has dark brown short hair.
