Ernesto Quintana , quien fuera directivo y gerente de Cantabria Labs (antigua Industrial Farmacéutica Cantabria) ha muerto este martes a los 87 años de forma súbita en plena calle en Santander .

El suceso, ocurrido este mediodía en un paso de peatones de Calvo Sotelo, ha provocado un notorio despliegue policial y de emergencias en lo que inicialmente parecía que había sido un nuevo atropello en la capital cántabra (hace menos de dos semanas hubo uno mortal en Valdecilla y hace un mes uno con tres heridas graves frente al Ayuntamiento).

El hombre, vecino de Santander, cruzaba por el paso de peatones junto a su mujer cuando ha empezado a encontrarse mal y se ha desvanecido .

Personal sanitario del centro de salud Isabel II ha salido a auxiliar al hombre, sin haber podido hacer nada por su vida. Al lugar han llegado varias ambulancias, una de las cuales se ha llevado al fallecido.

El suceso ha sido prácticamente presenciado por la alcaldesa de Santander, Gema Igual , que se encontraba en la misma zona y ha estado consolando a la viuda, que posteriormente ha estado acompañada de otros familiares que han ido llegando al lugar.

También ha acudido el concejal de Protección Ciudadana, Eduardo Castillo, y otros miembros del Ayuntamiento.
