Due giovani alpinisti, un ragazzo di 26 anni e una ragazza di 25, sono morti nella tarda mattinata di oggi, domenica 14 giugno, dopo essere precipitati per circa 100 metri sul versante vicentino del Monte Pasubio . L’incidente, avvenuto nella zona impervia dello Sojo d’Uderle, aggrava ulteriormente il bilancio di un fine settimana drammatico per le vette italiane, dopo le sette vittime registrate solo nella giornata di ieri tra Monte Bianco, Gran Paradiso e Cervino.
La caduta e il salvataggio del terzo componente
L’incidente è avvenuto poco prima delle ore 12 in un’area particolarmente esposta e impegnativa, molto nota tra gli escursionisti e gli amanti delle arrampicate. L’allarme è scattato immediatamente dopo la caduta della coppia, ma all’arrivo delle squadre d’emergenza per i due giovani non c’era ormai più nulla da fare: sono entrambi deceduti a causa dell’impatto con il suolo dopo il volo nel vuoto.
Le operazioni di soccorso e recupero delle salme sono state rese estremamente complesse dal maltempo e da una fitta nebbia che ha avvolto la parete rocciosa. Sul posto è intervenuto l’elisoccorso di Trento, che è riuscito a individuare e trarre in salvo il terzo componente della cordata. Il ragazzo, rimasto ancora agganciato alla parete e sotto shock, è stato recuperato e trasportato in ospedale.
Il bilancio del weekend
Il nuovo incidente sul Pasubio si aggiunge a una catena impressionante di tragedie ad alta quota che sta segnando questo fine settimana di metà giugno. Soltanto ieri, sabato 13 giugno, si era registrato un bilancio pesantissimo di ben sette morti in meno di 24 ore sui quattromila delle Alpi occidentali. La giornata nera era iniziata con il ritrovamento dei corpi di tre scalatori trentini, precipitati per oltre 400 metri sulla parete nord del Gran Paradiso . Quasi contemporaneamente, altri quattro alpinisti hanno perso la vita in tre diversi incidenti: due lungo la cresta Kuffner sul Mont Maudit (nel massiccio del Monte Bianco ), uno sul Pic Tyndall lungo la via normale del Cervino , e un escursionista recuperato senza vita sul ghiacciaio della Brenva. Una strage d’alta quota a cui oggi si sono aggiunti i due giovanissimi sul Pasubio.
