Lögmaður hennar sagði að lífi Ásu og barna hennar hefði verið snúið algerlega á hvolf. Heuermann var handtekinn í New York-borg en skömmu eftir það komu lögregluþjónar á heimili þeirra hjóna og sögðu Ásu og börnum þeirra frá handtökunni og ákærunni. Lögmaðurinn segir fregnirnar hafa komið þeim alfarið í opna skjöldu.
