TALIJANSKA premijerka Giorgia Meloni optužila je američkog predsjednika Donalda Trumpa da je izmislio priču o njoj, nakon što je izjavio da ga je na summitu skupine G7 "molila" za zajedničku fotografiju.
Meloni je rekla da je "zaprepaštena" njegovim komentarima te ustvrdila da su "u potpunosti izmišljeni". Istodobno ga je optužila da prema protivnicima Zapada pokazuje mnogo više obzira nego prema dugogodišnjim saveznicima.

"Postoji jedna stvar koju bi trebao zapamtiti: ni ja ni Italija nikada nikoga ne molimo", ustvrdila je. Meloni je nekoć bila jedna od najglasnijih Trumpovih europskih saveznica te jedina europska čelnica koja je prisustvovala njegovoj inauguraciji 2025. godine.
