Bejött Hamilton stratégiája
Ekkor Hamilton állt az élre, és próbált akkora távolságot kiautózni, hogy a harmadik kerékcseréje után is a Mercedesek elé jöjjön vissza. Rámosolygott a szerencse:

Hamilton azonban jóval gyorsabb volt az üldözőknél, a 49. körben már 6,7 másodperccel vezetett. Rövid ideig izgulhatott, mert a versenyfelügyelők sárga zászlós kihágást vettek észre nála, azonban vizsgálat és büntetés sem lett belőle, senki és semmi sem akadályozhatta meg őt a 106. győzelmében.
A Mercedesek ugyanis egymással voltak elfoglalva. Antonelli a 61. körben dűlőre vitte a dolgot. De az öröme gyorsan elillant: a következő körben megállt alatta az autó, kiesett. Azon nyomban Leclerc is így járt, ezt virtuális biztonsági autós szakasz követte. Hamilton befutójára ez nem volt hatással, simán győzött, megszakítva a Mercedes idei nyerő szériáját, majd nem győzött hálálkodni a rádión a csapatnak, hangsúlyozva, hogy teljesítette az álmát – azaz a Ferrari pilótájaként is győzött. Russell, Norris, Verstappen, Piastri, Hadjar, Gasly, Colapinto, Lawson és Lindblad pedig a pontszerzésnek örült.
