Marta Caride advanced to the 64th round in the foil event at the European Fencing Championships but lost to Romania's Andreea Dinca. Catarina Pires lost all six matches in her group. Apesar de vencer dois desafios e perder quatro no Grupo 3 de apuramento, Marta Caride avançou para a ronda de 64, na qual perdeu, por 15-13, com a romena Andreea Dinca.
