Police warn of fraud in Aarhus

The police received two reports today about a man traveling in Árbæ who was defrauded by an unknown charity organization. The man sought assistance with a donation of 2,000 Icelandic kronas but it was revealed that 2,000 euros had been taken from the cards of those who donated to the unknown charity. The police are protecting the man. According to the police in the capital area, the man approached an elderly resident in Árbæ and asked for support for an unknown charity. He did not want to pay cash but used a card and PIN number and used a phone as a device. He was looking for 2,000 krona in捐款,

Lögreglu bárust tvær tilkynningar í dag um karlmann á ferð um Árbæ sem falaðist eftir styrkjum fyrir góðgerðarsamtök. Hann leitaðist eftir styrk að upphæð tvö þúsund krónur en að tvö þúsund evrur hafi verið teknar af kortum þeirra sem féllust á að styrkja málefnið. Lögregla varar við manninum.

Lögreglan á höfuðborgarsvæðinu segir í fréttatilkynningu að sér hafi borist tvær tilkynningar um erlendan karlmann sem hafi gefið sig á tal við eldri borgara á ferð um Árbæ í dag og falast eftir styrkjum fyrir óþekkt góðgerðarsamtök.

Maðurinn hafi ekki viljað seðla heldur greiðslukort og PIN-númer og hafi notað síma sem posa. Hann hafi leitast eftir tvö þúsund króna styrk en í ljós hafi komið að tvö þúsund evrur hafi verið teknar af kortum þeirra sem féllust á að styrkja óþekktu góðgerðarsamtökin. Upphæðin samsvarar um 288 þúsund íslenskum krónum.

Lögreglan segist lítið vita annað um manninn en að hann hafi talað ensku og verið svartklæddur og í hvítum skóm.
