La Junta de Andalucía, a través de su consejera de Cultura y Deporte en funciones, Patricia del Pozo , ha reclamado al Gobierno de España la necesidad de mejorar el Cercanías y conectarlo al Metro de Sevilla de cara al Mundial 2030. Del Pozo ... ha señalado en la la Comisión Interministerial Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2030 celebrada en el Palacio de La Moncloa «la necesidad de dotar al Estadio La Cartuja de transportes públicos adecuados, por lo que es capital ampliar la red de Cercanías de Renfe en Sevilla y conectarla, al menos, con la Línea 1 del Metro en la estación Blas Infante». Entienden desde la Junta que «esta cuestión solventaría gran parte de la problemática actual de movilidad».
