Manzambi je u igru ušao tek u 71. minuti umjesto Dana Ndoyea, no i to mu je bilo dovoljno da postane ključni igrač susreta. U nešto više od dvadeset minuta igre unio je potpuni nered u obranu BiH. S dva pogotka postao je najmlađi švicarski igrač u povijesti koji je zabio dva gola na jednoj utakmici Svjetskog prvenstva.

Njegova statistika je impresivna: u 22 dodira s loptom imao je pet kontakata u suparničkom kaznenom prostoru, dva udarca u okvir gola i dva pogotka. Uz to je u završnici susreta izborio i jedanaesterac.

Put do zvijezda i budućnost u velikanu

Johan Manzambi rođen je u Ženevi, a nogometnu karijeru započeo je u Servetteu. Kao mladića ga je prepoznao njemački Freiburg, koji ga je doveo u svoj omladinski pogon bez odštete. Prošle sezone je u Bundesligi upisao pet golova i isto toliko asistencija.

Riječ je o polivalentnom ofenzivcu koji može igrati na svim napadačkim pozicijama, a najbolje se snalazi u samoj završnici. Nakon ovakve predstave, ne čudi što se za njega već zanimaju klubovi poput Manchester Uniteda, pa se Freiburgu smiješi golema zarada.
