J.T. Poston notched his fourth career PGA Tour victory on Sunday, taking down Ryan Gerard in a two-hole playoff at the 2026 Memorial Tournament.
Poston entered the final round at Muirfield Village Golf Club with a four-shot lead over the field. But after starting his round with a 3-over score through 13 holes, that lead quickly vanished.
However, Poston birdied three of his final five holes, including the par-4 18th, to force the playoff against Gerard.
"I needed to play the last five holes really well," Poston said after his round. "I knew I was going to be shaking Mr. [Jack] Nicklaus's hand walking off 18 no matter what, and I want to be proud of the effort when I did. So just to do it the way that I did ... is a dream come true, and something I'll certainly carry with me the rest of my career."
In the wake of this Memorial Tournament victory, Poston is taking some much-deserved time off.
Poston withdrew from this coming weekend's RBC Canadian Open on Monday.

“I sort of told myself in the playoff that this is my U.S. Open qualifier,” Poston said on Sunday. “This is my chance to get in. I want to play in the majors. I want to play in the big events. This is a huge boost of confidence for me and my game and knowing that I can compete in those and play in those. Just thrilled to get it done.”
