The amendments to the timetables

The Commission shall be empowered to adopt delegated acts in accordance with Article 26 to amend this Regulation.

Temporary changes to the Athens-Thessaloniki route will take effect from 22 to 24 June 2026 due to planned railway infrastructure restoration works being implemented by the Infrastructure Manager, Hellenic Railways (OSE), on the Lianokladi-Larissa section, according to information from Hellenic Train.

The projects are part of the programme to restore the infrastructure in Thessaly affected by the extreme weather phenomena Daniel and Elias and are deemed necessary for the progress and completion of the relevant projects.

In particular:

Schedules from Athens to Thessaloniki (IC50 and IC56)

The trains will run their scheduled route to Lianocladi, from where passengers will be transferred to Hellenic Train buses to:

* Thessaloniki (directly)

* Flat (directly)

* Catherine (directly)

At the same time, a bus will run from Paleoparsalos, serving successively Larissa, Katerini and Platti stations, with a final destination in Thessaloniki.

Schedules Thessaloniki - Athens (IC51 and IC57)

Passengers will be transported initially by Hellenic Train buses from Thessaloniki, and the intermediate stations, to Lianocladi, from where they will continue their journey to Athens by transfer to a train.

Buses will run:

* Thessaloniki - Lions Branch (direct), with departure times of 5:55 and 16:49.

* Platte - Lions Branch (direct), with departure times of 6:20 and 17:14.

* Catherine - Lion Branch (direct), with departure times of 6:43 and 17:37.

* Larissa - Paleoparsalus - Lion Branch, with departure times of 7:26 and 18:20.

In addition, a bus will be operated that will serve Thessaloniki - Platti - Katerini - Larisa - Paleoparsalos stations successively, with the final destination being Lianocladi.

Suburban services on the Larissa - Thessaloniki - Larissa section will be operated as normal.

Hellenic Train will make every effort to provide the best possible service to the passenger public during the works and recommends that passengers be informed of changes to the timetable through the company's official information channels before their journey.

In addition, the Commission notes that the Greek authorities have not provided any evidence that the aid is compatible with the internal market.

The Commission shall be empowered to adopt delegated acts in accordance with Article 26 to amend this Regulation.
