Slovenija lani ni dosegla cilja dveh odstotkov BDP-ja za obrambo, o katerem so se pred leti dogovorile zaveznice, a se je zavezala, da ga bo presegla še letos, je sporočil generalni sekretar zveze Nato Mark Rutte.

Po njegovih navedbah skoraj vse zaveznice izpolnjujejo cilj dveh odstotkov BDP-ja. " Albanija, Češka in Slovenija lani tega niso dosegle, vendar so se jasno zavezale, da bodo letos presegle dva odstotka BDP-ja, " je na novinarski konferenci glede obrambnih izdatkov zaveznic povedal generalni sekretar Nata Mark Rutte . Ob tem je poudaril, da gre pri trojici za manj kot milijardo dolarjev sredstev, ki jih trenutno ne namenjajo za obrambo, in dodal, da je to dokaj majhna številka v primerjavi z obsežnimi skupnimi obrambnimi izdatki zaveznic.

Rutte pred tem že poslal pismo nekdanjemu premierju Golobu

Njegove izjave sledijo pismu, ki ga je Rutte poslal nekdanjemu premierju Robertu Golobu , v katerem je Slovenijo obtožil, da je dejanska slovenska poraba za osnovne obrambne izdatke precej nižja od dveh odstotkov BDP-ja, kolikor navaja vlada. Opozoril je, da je bilo povišanje izdatkov glede na ocene njegovega osebja doseženo z vključevanjem projektov, ki ne sodijo v dogovorjeno opredelitev osnovnih obrambnih izdatkov. Če te izločimo, je Slovenija lani po navedbah Rutteja za osnovne obrambne izdatke namenila okoli 1,6 odstotka BDP-ja, kar je približno 300 milijonov evrov manj.

Janša na sprejemu pri Pirc Musar: Mislim, da mi bo prvič nerodno iti na vrh Nata

Premier Janez Janša je medtem ob sprejemu vlade pri predsednici republike Nataši Pirc Musar opozoril, da je pred Slovenijo na področju obrambe " kar nekaj velikih izzivov ".

" Čaka nas vrh Nata v juliju in ko sem gledal osnutke dokumentov, vidim Slovenijo daleč pod rdečo črto. Mislim, da bo prvič neprijetno iti na ta vrh, " je dejal in napovedal, da bodo v vladi do takrat pripravili rešitve. Zagotovil je še, da vlada ne bo pasivna opazovalka, temveč bo prispevala ideje pri reševanju izzivov severnoatlantskega zavezništva.

“Pri zunanji politiki bo ta vlada vodila realistično evroatlantsko zunanjo politiko brez primesi aktivizma, ki škodi slovenskim nacionalnim interesom. Smo del Evropske unije, smo del severnoatlantskega zavezništva. Obe asociaciji, ki smo si jih pred 20 leti idealno predstavljali, sta danes pred velikimi izzivi. Tudi v koalicijsko pogodbo smo zapisali, da bo Slovenija tvorno sodelovala pri iskanju odgovorov na te izzive. Zaveznice so se leta 2014 v Walesu dogovorile, da bodo izdatke za obrambo zvišale na dva odstotka BDP-ja, na vrhu v Haagu junija lani pa so se zavezale k dvigu obrambnih izdatkov na pet odstotkov BDP-ja do leta 2035. Od tega bi 3,5 odstotka namenile za naložbe neposredno v obrambo, 1,5 odstotka pa za naložbe, povezane z njo.
