Choking hazard: Labubu figure is being recalled

The company Comic Treff Buchhandels GmbH has recalled the plush figure 'Labubu' due to potential choking hazards for young children. The recall was initiated after an inspection by the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) found that the hands and feet of the toy could easily detach. Affected products with batch number R12402230008-06, sold starting July 2025, can be returned at a store in Vienna for a full refund.

Comic Treff Buchhandels GmbH ruft die Plüschfigur "Labubu" aus Gründen des vorsorglichen Verbraucherschutzes zurück.

Bei einer Überprüfung wurde festgestellt, dass sich Hände und Füße der Figur leicht lösen und eine Erstickungsgefahr für Kleinkinder darstellen.

Betroffene Figuren (Chargennummer R12402230008-06, verkauft ab Juli 2025) können in der Filiale Barnabitengasse 12, Wien, gegen Erstattung des Kaufpreises zurückgegeben werden.

Die Comic Treff Buchhandels GmbH ruft aus Gründen des vorsorglichen Verbraucherschutzes die Plüschfigur “Labubu” zurück . Bei einer Überprüfung durch die Agentur für Gesundheit und Ernährungssicherheit (AGES) wurde festgestellt, dass sich Hände und Füße der Figur leicht lösen können.

Diese Kleinteile stellen eine potenzielle Erstickungsgefahr für Kleinkinder dar.

Vom Rückruf betroffen ist ausschließlich folgendes Produkt:

Verkaufzeitraum: ab Juli 2025

Kunden werden dringend gebeten, die betroffene Plüschfigur außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren. Das Produkt kann ab sofort in der Filiale Barnabitengasse 12, 1060 Wien gegen Erstattung des Kaufpreises - auch ohne Kassenbon - zurückgegeben werden.
