Good news for NWMC patients: the Municipal Court has issued interim measures to protect the embryos

Patients of the private healthcare institution Northwestern Medical Center (NWMC) have received a temporary court order from the Municipal Court in Sarajevo requiring the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Ministry of Health to take measures to protect embryos stored at the facility. "Prevareni pacijenti privatne zdravstvene ustanove Northwestern Medical Center" (NWMC) saopćili su da su dobili rješenje Općinskog suda u Sarajevu kojim su određene privremene mjere zaštite embriona pohranjenih u ovoj ustanovi.

Kako navode, sud je Federaciji Bosne i Hercegovine i Federalnom ministarstvu zdravstva naložio poduzimanje mjera kako bi se osiguralo zakonito i stručno čuvanje biološkog materijala pacijenata.

Prema dijelu rješenja u koji je javnost imala uvid, sud je zabranio Federaciji BiH, Federalnom ministarstvu zdravstva i PZU „Northwestern Medical Center“ Sarajevo da bez pojedinačne pisane saglasnosti predlagatelja premještaju, predaju trećim osobama, unište, odmrznu, oštete, otuđe, zamijene, sakriju ili na bilo koji drugi način raspolažu materijalom pacijenata, osim radnji koje su nužne za njegovo stručno čuvanje i zakonit transfer.

Istovremeno, sud je naložio Federaciji BiH i Federalnom ministarstvu zdravstva da do preuzimanja, odnosno transfera materijala osiguraju neprekidno stručno čuvanje u propisanim kriouslovima, dovoljne količine tekućeg azota, imenovanje stručne osobe zadužene za održavanje te vođenje evidencije o svim poduzetim radnjama.

Pacijenti NWMC-a pozvali su Federalno ministarstvo zdravstva da hitno provede sudske mjere.

„Očekujemo da Ministarstvo odmah provede mjere u cilju spašavanja naših embriona kojima od sutra prijeti direktno propadanje jer inspektor koji toči azot danas odlazi u penziju“, naveli su u obraćanju medijima.
