U prepunoj sali Bošnjačkog Instituta Adilbega Zulfikarpašića u Sarajevu, u organizaciji Vijeća Kongresa bošnjačkih intelektualaca u Bosni i Hercegovini, održana je promocija knjige "Genocid nad Bošnjacima – Međunarodnopravna analiza", autora prof.dr. Enisa Omerovića.

Uvodna obraćanja održali su emeritus prof. dr. Kasim Trnka, predsjednik VKBI-ja, i akademik Mirko Pejanović, potpredsjednik Akademije nauka i umjetnosti Bosne i Hercegovine. O knjizi su govorili dr. sc. Muamer Džananović, direktor Instituta za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i međunarodnog prava Univerziteta u Sarajevu, dr. sc. Merisa Karović-Babić iz istog instituta i autorica predgovora knjige, te prof. dr. Rebeka Kotlo sa Pravnog fakulteta Univerziteta "Džemal Bijedić" u Mostaru. Moderator promocije bio je mr. sc. Emir Zlatar, sekretar VKBI-ja.
Akademik Mirko Pejanović govorio je o značaju naučnih studija zasnovanih na činjenicama i njihovoj ulozi u razvoju kulture sjećanja, dok je emeritus prof. dr. Kasim Trnka naglasio važnost kontinuiranog proučavanja genocida i očuvanja historijske istine.
Promotori su istakli da knjiga predstavlja značajan doprinos savremenim međunarodnopravnim studijama genocida. Dr. sc. Muamer Džananović istakao je autorovu sposobnost kritičke analize međunarodnog prava, te ocijenio da knjiga predstavlja vrijedan doprinos savremenim istraživanjima genocida i zaslužuje mjesto u akademskim kurikulumima. Prof. dr. Rebeka Kotlo naglasila je naučnu utemeljenost knjige i njenu metodološku dosljednost, ukazujući na izuzetno zahtjevan istraživački angažman autora i oslanjanje na verificirane naučne i stručne izvore. Prema dr. sc. Merisi Karović-Babić, riječ je o interdisciplinarnoj studiji koja povezuje pravo, historiju, međunarodne odnose, kulturu sjećanja i tranzicionu pravdu, nudeći čitaocu cjelovit pogled na genocid kao društveni, historijski i pravni proces te njegove posljedice.
Obraćajući se prisutnima, autor je govorio o svom profesionalnom i naučnom putu, ističući da njegovo interesovanje za proučavanje genocida traje od magistarskih studija, preko rada na Institutu za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i međunarodnog prava Univerziteta u Sarajevu, do nastavnog i naučnoistraživačkog rada na Pravnom fakultetu Univerziteta u Zenici. Naglasio je da knjiga predstavlja rezultat višegodišnjeg istraživanja međunarodnopravnih aspekata genocida nad Bošnjacima i doprinos očuvanju istine i dostojanstva žrtava.
Promocija je okupila brojne predstavnike akademske zajednice, naučnih i kulturnih institucija, studente, istraživače i građane zainteresirane za pitanja međunarodnog prava, ljudskih prava i kulture sjećanja.
Knjigu je izdala Nacionalna koordinacija Bošnjaka u Republici Hrvatskoj u okviru edicije "Bošnjaci". Projekat njenog objavljivanja finansiran je sredstvima Ureda za ljudska prava i prava nacionalnih manjina Vlade Republike Hrvatske, a realiziran pod pokroviteljstvom zastupnika bošnjačke nacionalne manjine u Hrvatskom saboru Armina Hodžića.
