The largest counter factory in Romania has been put up for sale

The largest electricity and natural gas meter factory in Romania, located in Timișoara, has been put up for auction after its owner, AEM SA, was officially declared bankrupt in March of this year. The company had been in insolvency since 2024, and production activities were halted in 2023. The bankruptcy followed the rejection of a restructuring plan by creditors in late last year, according to Profit.ro. Total voting claims in AEM SA’s debt table exceed 404 million lei, with the largest creditors being ANAF (155.8 million lei) and the state-owned bank Exim Bank Romania (121.2 million lei).
