Brussels government doubles premium for owners of self-owned homes

The Brussels government has announced plans to double the 'Be Home' tax reduction for homeowners who live in their own homes, increasing it from 164 euros to 328 euros per year starting in 2027. The policy aims to provide financial relief to families facing high housing costs. Approximately 200,000 residents currently benefit from this subsidy, and the proposal is part of an agreement reached in the governing coalition. The draft text will be submitted for advice to the Council of State and social partners before being finalized.
