They secure the premises where they processed illegal timber

Mexican authorities, including the State Security Secretariat, National Defense Secretariat, and Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection, temporarily closed a site in Xonacatlán suspected of being used for illegal logging and processing of timber. The site was shut down following a citizen report, and officials seized large quantities of pine and oyamel wood, along with heavy machinery and tools.

Toluca, Méx.— Para combatir la tala clandestina y el comercio ilegal de recursos forestales, elementos de la Secretaría de Seguridad mexiquense, la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional y la Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente clausuraron temporalmente un predio presuntamente utilizado como centro de almacenamiento y transformación de materia prima forestal en Xonacatlán.

Tras una denuncia ciudadana, en el lugar se hallaron y aseguraron 15 mil 536 metros cúbicos de madera en rollo de la especie pino, 45 mil 270 metros cúbicos de madera en rollo de la especie oyamel y 12 mil 941 metros cúbicos de madera aserrada. También se decomisó de forma precautoria maquinaria industrial pesada, herramientas y un carro porta trozas.
