Bogi Nils Bogason forstjóri Icelandair segist ekki eiga von á því að fleiri flugferðum verði aflýst vegna mönnunarvanda eftir að félagið og Félag íslenskra atvinnuflugmanna skrifuðu undir sameiginlega yfirlýsingu í dag.
Icelandair og flugmenn sammæltumst um það á fundi hjá sáttasemjara að vinna samkvæmt verkstýrðri áætlun ríkissáttasemjara á meðan viðræðum stendur. Nýr samningur verði undirritaður fyrir 15. september næstkomandi.
Jón Þór Þorvaldsson formaður FÍA orðaði það þannig að deiluaðilar hefðu ákveðið að snúa bökum saman og að flugmenn myndu gera allt sem í þeirra valdi stendur í sumar til að tryggja að allt gangi smurt fyrir sig í sumar.
Yfirvegun í viðræðum næstu vikur og mánuði
Bogi Nils Bogason forstjóri kom í myndver og sagði þetta mjög farsæla niðurstöðu.
„Það hefur verið ákveðin ókyrrð í kringum þetta verkefni en við erum sammála um að fara í þetta af meiri yfirvegun næstu vikurnar og reyna að ná lendingu í síðasta lagi 15. september, undir handleiðslu sáttasemjara og samkvæmt tillögu hans,“ sagði Bogi.
Staðan sem upp var komin hafi ekki verið viðunandi. Hann áréttaði þó að aflýstum flugferðum í maímánuði hefði ekki fjölgað nema um 0,7 prósentustig á milli ára.
„Það getur alltaf eitthvað komið upp á í flugi. Í fyrra í maímánuði flugum við 98,7 prósent af áætlunarflugum og í maí núna voru það 98 prósent þannig að munurinn er 0,7 prósent. Veður og tæknilegar ástæður geta orðið þess valdandi að við þurfum að aflýsa flugum.“
„En þessi yfirlýsing tryggir ákveðna friðarskyldu þangað til að samningar hafa náðst,“ sagði hann.
Yfirvinnukaup nauðsynlegur sveigjanleiki
Aðspurður sagði Bogi að það hafi alltaf verið þannig að félagið kaupi frí flugmanna til að anna árstíðarbundnu álagi og ef eitthvað óvænt kemur upp á. Þar sé um nauðsynlegan sveigjanleika að ræða í rekstri sem þessum.
„Þetta er fyrirkomulag sem hefur verið til staðar til margra ára hjá okkur.“
