Независимият кандидат Ивелина Тодорова, издигната от Инициативен комитет, спечели предсрочните частични избори за кмет на тополовградското село Орешник с 89,7%. Тя бе и единствен претендент за поста.

От упражнилите си правото на глас 98 от общо 400 регистрирани избиратели, или окончателна избирателна активност 24,5%, Тодорова получава 87 гласа. Десет са са избрали опцията "Не подкрепям никого", а една бюлетина е невалидна, съобщи за БТА председателят на Общинската избирателна комисия (ОИК) в Тополовград Мирослав Тумбалов.

Не са регистрирани жалби или сигнали за нередности по вота. Той започна в спокойна обстновка.

До изборите се стигна, след като предишният кмет Иван Ятакчиев подаде оставка. На 17 февруари ОИК прекрати предсрочно пълномощията му.
