Ο 26χρονος Μπρένταν ΜακΓκίλικαντι , δήλωσε στο BBC ότι «θαύμασε» τη νέα προσθήκη στο άγαλμα καθώς πήγαινε στη δουλειά του.

«Δεν έχω ιδέα τι σημαίνει, αλλά είναι ένα ωραίο μικρό σύμβολο της Σκωτίας. Είναι ένα σημάδι που δείχνει ότι οι Σκωτσέζοι ήταν εδώ».

Μέχρι το απόγευμα της Τετάρτης, οι αρχές της Βοστώνης είχαν αρχίσει να απομακρύνουν τους κώνους κυκλοφορίας από τα αγάλματα — χωρίς ωστόσο να πτοούνται οι οπαδοί της Σκωτίας.

Ο Αλιστέρ Μπλέικ , από τη Γλασκώβη, σημειώνει: «Είνα χειρονομία… φιλίας των κατοίκων της Γλασκώβης. Νομίζω ότι τη βλέπεις πιο συχνά εδώ επειδή υπάρχουν τόσα πολλά αγάλματα.»

Εκτιμάται ότι 20.000 έως 30.000 οπαδοί της Σκωτίας ταξίδεψαν στη Βοστώνη για την πρεμιέρα της Σκωτίας στο Μουντιάλ 2026 , εναντίον της Αϊτής την περασμένη εβδομάδα, όπου οι Σκωτσέζοι κέρδισαν με 1 - 0.
