Със свое решение ОИК прекрати на 20 февруари предсрочно правомощията на Трайчо Трайков като кмет на район "Средец“ заради избирането му за служебен министър на енергетиката.

Освен Трайков, който е издигнат от ПП-ДБ, останалите кандидати са: Георги Неделчев от "Български съюз за директна демокрация", Иван Търпоманов от партия "Свобода", Кирил Нешев от "България може", Пламена Заячка от "БСП – Обединена левица" и Веселина Йорданова от "Възраждане".
