Robert Golob, leader of the Freedom Party (Svoboda), invited representatives from left-wing parties to a working lunch and proposed their involvement in forming a shadow government. He emphasized that the project would include both politicians and independent experts who think freely and independently of party lines. Despite the invitation, there has been little enthusiasm among smaller leftist groups. Some are skeptical about the timing, noting that Golob initially introduced the idea publicly before following up with the invitation two weeks later. This delay has raised questions about the sincerity of the offer. Additionally, the timing of the decision, during summer holidays, may complicate any potential participation from political parties. Vladimir Prebilič, leader of Prerod, expressed doubts about whether the shadow government format would contribute meaningfully to political discourse. He noted that constant criticism alone would not suffice and suggested that more substantial content was needed. While Prerod received information about Golob's plan, any decision regarding participation must still be made by internal party organs. In SD, Podpresident Luka Goršek indicated that further discussions within the party would determine whether they accept the invitation. He confirmed that SD would continue to act as the main opposition force, highlighting the mistakes of the current government. Meanwhile, Luka Mesec, co-coordinator of Levica, viewed the meeting as a step forward but stressed that final decisions on collaboration would come after the summer break.
