The company has pledged to invest more than $10 billion in partnerships and infrastructure related to self-driving technology over the coming years. In August, the company outlined plans to expand its autonomous operations, including collaborations with firms like Pony.ai to deploy over 2,000 robotaxis in five European cities through the Uber app. In Europe, the competition for autonomous vehicle dominance is intensifying. In London, Uber collaborates with Wayve to develop a robotaxi service accessible via its app, while Waymo, another major player, is also establishing its own driverless ride-hailing operation in the city. Waymo already tests autonomous vehicles there, and both companies are preparing similar offerings in Munich.
