The witness said he avoided work due to fear but continued receiving calls from Ferrel, who allegedly searched for him at his place of employment. The warning came after reports that Darren Govender and a supporter, identified as a pastor, had approached a journalist outside the courtroom. Video footage was presented in court depicting armed security personnel from Pro Secure, Govender’s former company, outside the witness’s business premises. The witness said he applied for a protection order against Govender but was unable to serve it because Govender was out of the province. Subsequently, he received an anonymous SMS instructing him to serve the order at a location he believed to belong to Ferrel.
