Danzatlán 2026 se prépare à quatre jours de danse avec Elisa Carrillo et des artistes internationaux

Danzatlán 2026 has announced its schedule for four days of dance performances, featuring Elisa Carrillo and international artists, set to take place from August 13 to 16 at the Centro Cultural Mexiquense Bicentenario (CCMB) in Texcoco. The ninth edition of the International Dance Festival will showcase a mix of local and global talent, with Carrillo leading several key presentations. The festival will open with a talk titled “Pregúntale a Elisa,” during which the dancer, who also directs the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart, Germany, will engage with young audiences at the Auditorio Miguel León Portilla within the CCMB complex. This interactive session aims to connect the younger generation with the world of dance. A highlight of the festival will be the gala “Elisa y Amigos” on August 15, featuring performances by renowned dancers such as Tatiana Melnik and Motomi Kiyota from the Hungarian National Ballet, Fumi Kaneko and Vadim Muntagirov from the Royal Ballet of London, Marti Paixá from the Stuttgart Ballet, and Braylon Browner. Carrillo herself will perform pieces including “Transparente” by Ronald Savkovic and the third act of “Onegin” by John Cranko. The Academia de Danza del Bosque will stage “El lago de los cisnes” under the direction of Blanca Estela Bautista Rivera. Additionally, on August 14 and 15, eight esteemed ballet artists will offer warm-up classes to participants. These sessions aim to prepare attendees for the main performances and provide insight into the physical demands of professional dance. Carrillo will conclude the festival with a large-scale ballet class, offering the public a chance to participate in a communal dance experience. All events at Danzatlán 2026 are free of charge, reflecting the organizers' commitment to making high-quality cultural experiences accessible to all. The festival’s success is attributed to growing public interest, with fans forming lines early to secure tickets and traveling from distant locations to attend. Carrillo emphasized that this continued engagement motivates her to continue promoting dance through her foundation and collaboration with the State of Mexico's Culture and Tourism Department. The event marks another step in the ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between the community and the art of dance.
