La police de Bauchi a arrêté quatre personnes dans deux affaires d'homicides distinctes.

Bauchi police have arrested four individuals in connection with two separate homicide cases that resulted in the deaths of two men in different parts of the state. The arrests were announced by the Bauchi State Police Command through its spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, in a statement released on Wednesday. The first incident took place on July 25 at approximately 3:28 p.m., according to Habib. A 45-year-old resident of Unguwan Kur reported the stabbing of Zahradeen Dan’Azumi Tanko, a 25-year-old man, by Al-Amin Hamisu Gidado, a 21-year-old suspect. The police stated that Gidado acted in an alleged conspiracy with Yahaya Mu’azu, who remains at large. The victim suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Gidado has since been arrested and is in custody, while authorities continue their search for Mu’azu. The second incident occurred in the Dandango area, where residents reported the body of Monday Chiroma, a 51-year-old man, on July 21. Preliminary investigations indicated that the attack happened on July 20, when a group of suspects allegedly assaulted Chiroma and another victim, Yelwa Bango, over suspicions that they had bewitched a 20-year-old woman named Jamila Anthony. Anthony later died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Gudun Hausawa, Bauchi. Both Chiroma and Bango were taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where Chiroma was confirmed dead and Bango was hospitalized. During interrogations, three suspects, Danjuma Anthony, 25; Ayuba Anthony, 22, also known as Babaru; and Christopher Adamu, 34—admitted to the crime. These three have been detained and are being investigated further. The police command has transferred both cases to the State Criminal Investigation Department for more detailed examination and legal proceedings. Efforts are still underway to locate additional suspects linked to these incidents. The police commissioner, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, expressed condemnation of both killings and called on the public to refrain from resorting to violent means or informal justice. He encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station and reiterated the police's dedication to delivering justice for the victims and upholding peace within the state. Authorities are working closely with local security forces and community members to track down remaining suspects. The police have not yet provided details on whether charges will be filed against the arrested individuals or what specific offenses they face. However, the cases are expected to proceed through the judicial system once all necessary evidence has been collected and reviewed.
