A barge operator working at an inert material quarry near the village of Lozen in Pazardzhik died on July 2 during a regular work shift, according to a spokesperson from the Regional Directorate of the MVD in Pazardzhik, Miroslav Stoyanov. The man was operating specialized machinery for sand extraction when he unexpectedly fell into the water body of the quarry. The machine operator became trapped and unable to exit the cabin, sinking together with the equipment. Specialized teams conducted a search and recovered the body of the deceased today via divers. A criminal investigation has been initiated under the supervision of the Pazardzhik District Prosecutor’s Office.
