Bona has launched an expanded version of its SuperSport System tailored to meet the evolving needs of the Asia Pacific sports flooring industry. The announcement was made from Malmö, Sweden, on 17 July 2026, marking a strategic step forward in Bona’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its foothold in the Asia Pacific market. The new SuperSport System is positioned as a comprehensive, start-to-finish solution designed to simplify the application and maintenance of sports flooring. It encompasses a range of products, including primers, finishes, paints, cleaners, machines, and tools, all engineered to function seamlessly within a unified system. This integration aims to minimize variability during installation and upkeep while ensuring consistent performance across different types of indoor sports surfaces. The system is intended to cater to a broad spectrum of users, from educational institutions and local clubs to elite professional venues. Data Bridge Market Research forecasts that the global sports flooring market will expand to around USD 19.09 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.6%. Within this context, the Asia Pacific region is anticipated to capture 18.5% of the total market share, driven largely by the increasing popularity of indoor sports. Indoor sports flooring accounts for over 75% of demand in the region, with basketball, badminton, and gym facilities being key contributors to this trend. Its formulation ensures that it maintains a smooth, visually appealing surface while providing superior grip and resilience against wear and tear. Kelvin Neo, manager at Wood & Wood Flooring Pte Ltd in Singapore, praised the performance of Bona SuperSport 2K. “The finish delivers a smooth, high-quality result that enhances both the look and functionality of sports flooring,” he noted. “It provides great traction and holds up well under heavy daily use.” Additional enhancements include the introduction of Bona SuperSport Line Paint and Bona SuperSport Zone Paint, which offer improved adhesion and color vibrancy. These products are suitable for application on a variety of surfaces, including wood and resilient materials, and are designed to meet the varied requirements of different sports facilities. The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong highlighted the practical benefits of the updated SuperSport System, noting its capacity to support the multifaceted demands of a high-traffic sports hall. A representative from the university stated that the system provides the necessary versatility, stability, and longevity to ensure a safe and efficient environment for athletes and participants.
