End to the ban: Russian athletes return to the Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board announced the temporary lifting of the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee, which had been in effect since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. As a result, restrictions imposed by international sports federations regarding the participation of Russian athletes are no longer in place. Russian Sports Minister Mikhail DEGTYAREV expressed satisfaction with the return of Russian athletes to the international sports scene, calling it a green light for international federations to restore the participation of all Russian athletes.
