The International Olympic Committee (MKOl) has temporarily lifted the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), following a legal review by MKOl's Legal Commission. The decision was based on the determination that ROC no longer includes sports organizations operating in territories under the jurisdiction of Ukraine's National Olympic Committee. Additionally, Russia assured that it would not conduct any activities in these areas. MKOl stated it would continue monitoring the situation and retain the possibility of resuming actions if needed. The 2022 and 2023 recommendations regarding Russian athletes' participation in international competitions no longer apply, but strict anti-doping requirements will now apply to Russian athletes returning to international competition. MKOl still does not plan to organize events in Russia or invite representatives of the Russian authorities to its events. The decision on whether Russian flags, anthems, colors, and other symbols can be used at the Olympics will be made later. MKOl reaffirmed its support for the Ukrainian Olympic community.
