A powerful hockey team has formed in Sisak, preparing for a strong challenge at the top of the league. The club's management believes this level of organization and ambition is rivaled only by Dinamo and Hajduk, two of Croatia’s most prominent teams. This comes after a season marked by both triumphs and heartbreak, with the team reaching the semi-finals of the Alpine League before narrowly missing out on a place in the final. The Sisak team had built a remarkable connection with its fans throughout the season, creating an atmosphere described as unprecedented in the league. Fans filled the arena for nearly every game, showing unwavering support. According to Vito Idžan, one of the key players, the fan base was crucial to their success. “We thank our supporters for recognizing our efforts and following us through the entire season,” he said. “They are the most important part of our story.” Marko Kajgana, president of the Sisak club, emphasized the importance of maintaining this momentum heading into the new season. He noted that the roster for the upcoming season is largely set, with most of the desired players staying on board. Key players such as Tjas Lesničar and Nejc Brus have remained, while others like Marijus Dumčius are expected to return later in the year after an injury. However, some players have moved on, including Danil Larionovsky, who went to play in Poland, and others like Pećerić, Čanić, Malenica, and Kim Yeob, who have left for opportunities abroad. To strengthen the team, the club has brought in young talent from their local academy, including Antonio Trepša. Additionally, they have signed three Canadian players, Lucas Perich, Anthony Tabak, and Nicholas Domitrovich, who will compete under Croatian nationality papers. These additions are expected to bolster the team significantly, aiming to secure a spot among the top three or four teams in the league. The club has also launched a new website aimed at improving communication between parents, coaches, and the club administration. This platform provides easy access to training schedules, updates, and other essential information. Kajgana expressed satisfaction with the modernization effort, noting that the club now has a website comparable to those of Dinamo and Hajduk, which are considered industry leaders in terms of digital presence. New sponsorships have further strengthened the club's position. A notable partnership includes Opel, along with several smaller sponsors. The league has accepted Sisak as the host for a match at the start of the season, and five home games will be played during the traditional “Advent on Zibel” period, which runs over a month-long span. Humanitarian activities continue to grow, with ongoing projects benefiting the community. The renewed interest in ice hockey in Sisak is evident from the rapid sale of 400 season tickets. Sales have just begun, yet the club has already secured funds necessary for the start of the season. For a small club like Sisak, this represents a significant milestone. With these developments, the team is poised to make another strong push in the upcoming season, aiming to build upon the successes of the previous year.
