According to preliminary data from the Croatian Pension Insurance Agency (HZMO), the number of insured individuals increased by 0.8% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,802,261 people at the end of July 2026. This growth indicates an increase in employment, as the number of insured individuals reflects the number of workers registered with employers. The largest number of insured individuals were in wholesale and retail trade (246,999) and manufacturing (243,513). Other notable sectors included construction (155,453) and accommodation, food service, and related activities (151,526). Compared to previous years, the number of insured individuals has grown significantly, increasing by 3% compared to July 2024 and by 6.9% compared to July 2023.
