Trzaskowski announced the resignation of two vice-presidents of Warsaw

Lukashenko is trying to "hide" from Putin.

The article discusses Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's efforts to reduce his dependence on Russia, particularly after recent tensions with Moscow and Kyiv. It highlights his visit to China shortly after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a closed summit, portraying it as a desperate geopolitical maneuver to secure support while balancing pressures from both sides. The author suggests that Lukashenko seeks to maintain stability within his regime by avoiding direct involvement in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which could threaten domestic order. The article also notes that Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s emphasis on protecting Belarusian sovereignty might serve Beijing’s economic interests, especially given Belarus’s strategic position as a land corridor to the EU. The piece frames Lukashenko’s actions as a test of China’s willingness to provide support amid growing regional instability.

"Such a gift for Santa". There was an announcement about Trzaskowski.

The article discusses plans by organizers to hold a referendum in Warsaw regarding the removal of Rafał Trzaskowski as mayor. Maciej Wilk, president of the association 'Tak dla CPK' and the Polish Development Foundation, stated that collecting over 132,000 valid signatures from Warsaw residents would be a significant organizational challenge. The organizers aim to collect more than 150,000 signatures to account for potential rejections during verification. They plan to start the official collection in late July, preparing volunteers, funding, and materials beforehand. The campaign will primarily take place on the streets, with social media used for mobilization. The referendum could potentially occur around Christmas if the timeline allows. Wilk mentioned that the situation at the Southern Hospital was a catalyst but not the sole reason for the initiative.

During the meeting, Sybiha proposed a package of crisis measures aimed at resolving tensions, including consultations between foreign ministries, meetings with historians specializing in World War II, and appeals to religious leaders in both countries to support bilateral dialogue. Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine's decision to commemorate the UPA was not motivated by anti-Polish sentiments and expressed respect for Poland's historical narrative. Ziobro is to be taken into custody, it's final consent, now it's time for extradition

The Warsaw District Court has issued a final ruling allowing the temporary arrest of Zbigniew Ziobro, a former Polish justice minister who is currently hiding in the United States. The court ruled on July 1, 2026, after a lengthy hearing where Ziobro’s defense team attempted to delay proceedings by requesting the removal of judges from the panel. These requests were denied, and the court upheld the decision to detain Ziobro based on allegations related to the Justice Fund scandal. The prosecution claims there is sufficient evidence to justify the arrest, citing risks of flight, obstruction of justice, and potential criminal liability. With this ruling, Poland’s Minister of Justice, Waldemar Żurek, can now formally request Ziobro’s extradition from the U.S., where he sought asylum under the Hungarian government led by Viktor Orbán. Ziobro fled to Budapest in late 2025 to avoid arrest linked to the ongoing investigation into the Justice Fund affair.

Putin recognizes the oil map for the first time

Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged for the first time that Russia is building 'some oil reserves' during a meeting focused on energy issues. He emphasized the need to strengthen domestic oil production and increase output. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continued their attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, detonating an oil purification plant in the southern Krasnodar region, which produces around four million tons of crude oil annually. The Krasnodar region is one of Russia's largest oil-producing areas located near the Black Sea. On Tuesday, Ukrainian forces launched large-scale air strikes on Sevastopol, the largest city on Crimea, including attacks on oil facilities. In response, Russia, which annexed Crimea in 2014, has restricted fuel sales to the public to counteract the energy shortages. According to reports, these attacks have had no impact on the front line. During an interview with a Russian state television station, Putin described the Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure as an attempt to destabilize Russian society. He stated that Ukraine's goal was to halt the deployment of Russian military units to improve their position in arms control talks.

Journalist Leszek Kraskowski has been released from custody.

Journalist Leszek Kraskowski has been released from custody.

Leszek Kraskowski, a journalist detained in June, may soon be released from custody after prosecutors decided to lift his arrest. The decision follows an investigation into whether he sent threatening emails to a police commander in Piaseczno. Prosecutors now cannot definitively confirm that Kraskowski was responsible for the threats, leaving open the possibility that others could have been involved. If Kraskowski pays a bail of 25,000 zł by July 17, he will be allowed to leave custody but will still face other preventive measures, including restrictions on contacting witnesses, staying within 100 meters of his ex-partner, and attending the police station twice weekly. These conditions remain due to concerns about potential interference with witness testimony. Initially, Kraskowski was arrested over alleged threats to a police officer, but the charges were later expanded to include allegations of physical and psychological abuse against close family members. His wife publicly detailed claims of domestic violence, which shifted public and political reactions.
