These developments lead to the fulfillment of Úrsula’s curse: “because the families condemned to a century of solitude did not have a second chance on earth.” As the new generations of the Buendía family navigate this changing world, tensions rise within the household, particularly concerning the threat posed by Colonel Aureliano. In a twist of fate, an assassination attempt organized by conservative factions inadvertently leads to the arrival of Fernanda del Carpio, a young woman from Bogotá, who becomes the first legitimate descendants of Úrsula Iguarán. Directed by Colombian filmmaker Laura Mora alongside Carlos Moreno, the eight episodes delve into the transformation of Macondo, once an idealistic utopia, into a city shaped by external forces and internal conflicts.
