A woman who dumped a newborn in a container in Usti was given 12 years.

A woman who abandoned her newborn child in a container in Ústí was sentenced to 12 years in prison. The child was found alive by a passerby in the fall of 2024. The court noted that the defendant partially admitted to her actions and ruled out that she acted under stress from childbirth. The judge emphasized that the woman prioritized herself over the child, viewing the baby as a problem. She must also pay non-material damages of 340,000 Czech crowns to her son. The prosecutor had recommended a ten-year sentence but accepted expert testimony stating the woman suffers from a personality issue, 

Živého a zdravého novorozence našel kolemjdoucí v kontejneru na sídlišti Střekov na podzim 2024. Dítě přežilo jen díky rozhodnému jednání nálezce. Policie krátce nato zadržela tehdy devatenáctiletou ženu.

Soudce Martin Parolek při zdůvodnění svého verdiktu připomněl, že obžalovaná se částečně k svému činu přiznala. Podle něj lze jednoznačně vyloučit, že obžalovaná jednala pod vlivem stresu z porodu.

„Stres měla především z toho, že by se musela postarat o novorozence. Sebe stavěla na první místo, dítě vnímala jako problém,“ zmínil soudce.

Žena má navíc podle rozsudku zaplatit svému synovi nemajetkovou újmu ve výši 340 tisíc korun.

Žalobce Vladimír Jan navrhoval pro obžalovanou desetileté vězení, přestože přijal tvrzení soudních znalců, že žena trpí jistou formou poruchy osobnosti a v době činu měla sníženou schopnost rozeznat důsledky svého jednání.

Přesto se domnívá, že obžalovaná odložila dítě do kontejneru s rozmyslem. Byla si přitom vědoma, že vzhledem k venkovní teplotě může zemřít.
