The United States and Iran have announced they have agreed on a deal to end the US-Israel war on Iran, including Israeli attacks on Lebanon, and to reopen the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz â a development welcomed worldwide as a potential path to a lasting end to the conflict.
âThe deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,â US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday on his Truth Social platform. âShips of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!â

Qatar
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its âappreciation for the determination of both the American and Iranian sides and their commitment to moving forward in resolving differences through negotiations and peaceful meansâ.
Minister of State Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi said he hoped the deal âwill serve as a catalyst for broader efforts to advance stability and address outstanding issues through responsible and constructive engagementâ.
Pakistan
Sharif congratulated Washington and Tehran for their âcommitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflictâ and thanked Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye for their contribution in securing the agreement.
Israel
In the first official Israeli comments after the announcement of the deal, Defence Minister Israel Katz said Israel wonât withdraw from land seized in Lebanon while the interim deal is pending.
Katz said Israel plans to stay âindefinitelyâ in territory it holds in Lebanon, as well as Syria and Gaza.
He said that if Iran attacks Israel over its strikes in Lebanon, Israel will strike Iran with âgreat force.â
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich condemned the agreement with Iran, calling it âbad for Israel and for the entire free worldâ.
In a statement on X, Smotrich said the joint campaign against Tehran had already achieved âmany achievements in weakening Iranâ, insisting those gains âwill not go to wasteâ.
âWe will have to continue the campaign to topple the regime ourselves and in creative ways, and ensure that Iran will never have nuclear weapons,â he said.
TĂŒrkiye
âI view the agreement reached between the United States and Iran as an important development for establishing peace and tranquillity in our region, and I welcome it with satisfaction,â President Recep Tayyip Erdogan posted on X.
âAs TĂŒrkiye, we will continue to support all efforts aimed at establishing peace, stability, and tranquillity in our region, and to contribute to lasting solutions based on diplomacy and international law.â
United Nations
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised the deal as a âcritical stepâ towards a âpeaceful settlement of the conflictâ.
European Union
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the priority now was the âswift and full implementation by all partiesâ of the deal and that âfreedom of navigation must be restored toll-freeâ.
âThis is essential for regional stability and the global economy. It opens the door to broader negotiations on peace and security in the Middle East,â she added.
United Kingdom
Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the deal a âhugely importantâ step in ending the war and said âtoll-free freedom of navigation must now be restored in the Strait of Hormuzâ as he offered to support mine clearance operations if needed.
âFor any peace to endure, it is essential that the commitments made, particularly in relation to Iranâs nuclear programme, are robust, verifiable and fully implemented,â Starmer said in a post on X.
âIt remains the UKâs firm and longstanding position that Iran must never have a nuclear weapon.â
France
President Emmanuel Macron called for the âurgent and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuzâ.
âThe resumption of maritime traffic, without restriction or toll, is an indispensable condition for regional stability and the global economy,â he said on social media.
Macron also said Paris would support âthe determined efforts of the Lebanese authoritiesâ to restore the sovereignty of the state, which he said could alone ensure âLebanonâs stability and territorial integrity and meet the needs of its populationsâ.
Bangladesh
The Ministry of Foreign Affiars said Dhaka had been âconsistently calling for de-escalation and resolution of the conflictâ through diplomatic means.
