Felix Nmecha opened the scoring early before Curacao produced one of the moments of the tournament so far, with Livano Comenencia firing home the nation's first-ever World Cup goal to spark wild celebrations among their supporters. Germany responded quickly through Nico Schlotterbeck's close-range header before Kai Havertz added a third from the penalty spot after Felix Nmecha was brought down in the area.
The four-time world champions have largely controlled proceedings, but Curacao have already created a piece of football history on their World Cup debut and continue to show plenty of spirit despite trailing 3-1.

Germany have the breathing room they were looking for.
Kai Havertz stepped up from the spot and showed plenty of composure, sending the Curacao goalkeeper the wrong way before rolling his penalty into the bottom-left corner.
The Curacao supporters behind the goal did everything they could to distract him, but the Germany forward remained calm despite a stuttering run-up.
It all stemmed from a needless challenge on Felix Nmecha after the midfielder burst into the box. The referee had little hesitation in pointing to the spot and Havertz has punished the mistake.
Curacao's dream start is beginning to fade as Germany move two goals clear.
