The Serbian Prime Minister has extended the decision to reduce fuel taxes until June 21

The Serbian government has extended the decision on the temporary reduction of excise taxes on oil derivatives until June 21. The excise tax on leaded gasoline remains at 61.24 dinars per liter, unleaded gasoline at 57.6 dinars per liter, and gas oils at 59.23 dinars per liter. This decision was signed by Prime Minister Đuro Macut on June 11. The government initially adopted this measure on May 14 due to increased production costs of oil derivatives caused by rising crude oil prices on the global market, which was valid until June 7.

Vucic: Government to raise duties on fuel

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that he expects the government to increase fuel duties, which had been reduced due to rising crude oil prices during the US-Iran conflict. The current duties on gasoline and diesel are approximately 20% below the legally defined levels. Vucic mentioned that around 10% of the reduced duties might be reinstated, potentially up to half of the previous cut, with a possible reversal of the duty reduction decision within the following week.
